Curriculum vitae

Prof. Ing. Ján Stoffa, DrSc. graduated at Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, Electrical Engineering Department (1960). Then he has worked at the faculty in its Department of Electrotechnology in the period 1960-1981, where he gained all his grades: PhD (1967), doc. (associated professor) (1971), DrSc. (1980) and Prof. (1980). Pedagogically he was active in the subjects Electrotechnical Materials, Metrology in electrotechnology and Electrical capacitors. In the field of Science he was interested in the research of properties of technical dielectrics. In the period 1981-1986 he has worked at Military Technical University in Liptovský Mikuláš, mostly in the field of science management. In the period 1986-2003 he has worked at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra in Technology education department, Department of Educational Technology and UNESCO working group. During the time he has reoriented his scientific activity into field of technology education, didactics of materials science instruction and scientific terminology. Since 1997 he is working at Palacký University in Olomouc, in the Department of technology and information education. Since 2003 is he also with J. Selye university in Komárno, Department of informatics. For short periods he has worked also in Leningrad Technical University, University of Salford (UK), Technical University in Brno, Technical University in Ostrava and Prešov University. He has published tens of monographic works and about 700 other publications. He was involved in many projects, teaching subjects, and scientific boards. Twenty years he was scientific guarantor of the international conference DIDMATTECH.
