MINI CNC LATHE – TEACHING AID FOR CAD ­& CAM & CAE

Abstract: The paper presents design of simple, reliable and also cheap system of high-quality, for a precise control of the stepper motors, which are part of almost all the automatically cutting operation machines. In work these stepper motors were applied for control of the mini CNC lathe, where they move in longitudinal and crosswise direction by shaper tool head. Both of these motors work independently of each other. During their simultaneous movement we can achieve not only production of simple roller surfaces and shoulders but also production of more complicated profiles. Stepper motors are regulated by the special originally authorised electronics. One part of this electronics is except the power supply and the indicator current state also logic, which on the basis of an input data from our computer controls the movement of motors. During working on this teaching tool suitable for teaching CAD­&CAM&CAE is possible to reach precision about ≈ 0,01mm.
