Measurement of the Heat Conductivity by the Hot-Wire Method Designed for Laboratory Works at Universities

Time: 2008.01.01. - 00:00

A small simple apparatus suitable for laboratory works in university physical courses was constructed. A parallel arrangement of a hot wire and a semiconductor thermistor was used. The Steinhart-Hart formula was used for calculating the temperature from the thermistor resistance. Experiments were carried out at the room temperature. Experimental results obtained on a sand sample are shown.
